I’m Becky Ball
Owner and Media Preservation Specialist at Beacon Digital Video & Photo Services.
For as long as I can remember my passions have been photography, writing and album keeping. Even as a little girl I always had a camera in hand and organized our family pictures into albums. Then, as an adult, I decided to turn these lifelong passions into an occupation by starting my own scrapbook business. For many years, I helped clients organize their photos and taught them how to preserve them permanently in photo-safe books. I also worked for several years as a Photo Solutions Specialist at a local photo retail store, where amongst many other things, I started up and ran the home movie transfer service.
Long before that, I was a Media Communications major in the 80’s and everything film and video has been my passion and skill all these years. In fact, after my college graduation in 1986, one of my first jobs was transferring 16mm film to VHS! Now all these years later, I’m transferring VHS to DVD and digital files. As we all know, technology has changed dramatically since then, and will continue to do so. As a member of The Photo Managers, and a leader in the business, I continue to learn and stay informed to help you make the best decisions in passing along your story for generations to come.
When I took over the ownership & operations of Beacon Digital Video & Photos Services, it gave me the opportunity to truly realize my life purpose. Both friends and clients told me it was a perfect fit, and it has proved to be that and more. Every day I use my passion and expertise to help people tackle projects they didn’t know how to start or where to go for help. I pride myself in extending exceptional customer service and topnotch results in your finished projects. In addition, I am also a Professional Photo Organizer. Yes, there is such a thing! As we all know, we’re taking more photos than ever before, and we have those photos scattered on every device we own. Through coaching, I will help you gain control of all the many pieces of your family history and ensure your story will not just be preserved for generations, but conserved for sustainability and easy, long-term accessibility for all to discover and celebrate.

How We Work
We guide you through gathering & organizing your Films, Videos, Photos, Slides & Memorabilia then help you turn them into a visual legacy preserved for generations.
1. CONSULTATION & CLARIFICATION
Each project is unique and every story deserves to be preserved the way you want it told. From our very first conversation with you, we take the time to discuss each aspect of your project with care, and together we will determine which services meet your needs.
2. CONFIRMATION & COUNSELING
We stay with you every step of the way. Throughout the process we offer advice, share examples & samples, discuss best practices, and describe each feature & benefit of our services. With each conversation you will receive verification and advice to ensure your end goals are met.
3. COMMITMENT & CONSERVATION
Our dedication to you is reflected in the way we deliver our projects. We aim to ensure that you leave with a solution rather than a problem or unnecessary digital clutter. While we could provide you with a DVD or thumb drive, we believe this would only contribute to the clutter and fail to offer a lasting or sustainable archive. DVDs are fast becoming obsolete and thumb drives are often misplaced, can easily become corrupted, or may leave you uncertain about how to access your files. Instead, we recommend delivery of your digitized project be on an external solid-state drive that can be safely stored & archived in a secure location, and made available for backup to other trusted locations.
We’ll also set you up with your own Projector Stream account, giving you Storage You Can Stream for secure, long-term storage and seamless access to all your favorite memories. With a Projector account, you’ll enjoy peace of mind and complete control to download, upload, share, and stream your digitized videos – all on one a platform that’s as easy to use as Netflix!
